316 and 316L stainless steel from Source21 are high performance austenitic stainless steel grades engineered for superior corrosion resistance in aggressive and demanding environments. Often referred to as marine grade stainless steel Type 316 and 316L include added molybdenum to enhance resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion caused by saltwater acids and harsh chemicals where standard stainless steels may fail. These grades are well suited for extreme service conditions and 316L offers excellent weldability making it ideal for sanitary and high purity systems. Commonly used across marine pharmaceutical chemical food processing and architectural hardware applications these materials deliver long term durability and dependable performance.

Source21 supplies 316 and 316L stainless steel in coil, strip, sheet, foil, bar, and plate, all produced to meet ASTM A240, ASTM A666, AMS 5524 for 316, and AMS 5507 for 316L standards.
